Smartron t.phone with 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 810 SoC launched for Rs. 22,999


Indian startup Smartron, backed by former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar launched the Windows 10 2-in-1 laptop called t.book for Rs. 39,999 in March this year. Now the company has introduced it first smartphone called t.phone. The Smartron t.phone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and at 149g is claimed to be the lightest 5.5-inch smartphone.

The Smartron t.phone comes with 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with Apical Assertive technology (for improved sunlight legibility) and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor backed by Adreno 430 GPU and 4GB RAM. On-baord storage is 64GB, which can be further increased by microSD card. The company is also offering unlimited t-cloud online storage. It comes with Hybrid dual-SIM slot, that lets you use the second SIM slot as a microSD slot when required.

For photography, it gets 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and 6P lens. Front facing camera is 4-megapixel. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type-C. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery and supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0.

Priced at Rs. 22,999, the Smartron t.phone will be available from Smartron tstore and Gadgets360 from early June. It comes in Classic Grey, Metallic Pink, Steel Blue, and Sunrise Orange.
