ZTE Axon 7 with 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 6GB RAM announced


ZTE has introduced it latest flagship in the Axon series dubbed Axon 7 in Beijing, China. The Axon 7 offers top-of-the line specs, and sports premium metal unibody design.

The ZTE Axon 7 features 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Class 4 protection and is powered by Snapdragon 820 processor backed by Adreno 530 GPU. It comes in two RAM/ROM models, 4GB RAM w/ 64GB storage and 6GB RAM w/ 128GB storage. The storage can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB) with the help of Hybrid dual SIM slot, where the second slot lets you add a SIM card or microSD card.

For photography, the Axon 2 gets 20-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, 4K video recording, PDAF and OIS. For clicking selfies and video calling, you get 8-megapixel front camera. Connectivity duties handled by 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MiFavor UI 4.0 on top is fueled by 3250mAh battery with Quick Charge, which can charge the phone up to 50 percent in 30 minutes.

The phone comes with fingerprint scanner, that's located at the back, and houses dual front-firing speakers powered by Dolby Atmos. It also has tqo dedicated AKM 4941 + 4490 audio chips that offers enhanced audio output, with one providing DAC function and the other acts as an amplifier.

The ZTE Axon 7 is priced at CNY 2899 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model, and CNY 4099 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model. It comes in Ion Gold and Quartz Gray colors, and is now available for pre-order in China via jd.com, and will go on starting June 2. The Axon 7 will also make it way to the U.S market and will be available in its ZTE America web store, as well as Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, eBay, and Newegg.
