HP announces new Omen line of gaming laptops, desktops and accessories


HP has announced a new line of gaming products called Omen, under which it launched two laptops,  a tower PC and monitor. HP says that the Omen gaming line up is "engineered exclusively for people who love to game to deliver the power and performance needed to dominate the competition".

HP Omen laptops
The two Omen laptops are differentiated by size and specs. The smaller model comes with 15.6-inch and starts with Intel Core i3 processor. The larger model has a 17.3-inch display and starts with an i5 processor. Both laptops can be configured with up to 4K display, i7 processor, up to 16GB RAM, GeForce GTX 960M graphics, up to 512GB SSD or up to 2TB storage options.

Other features include Vision HD camera or optional RealSense Camera, Bang & Olufsen and HP Audio Boost technology, Dragon Red backlit keyboard, and offers 10 hours of battery life on select models.

The HP Omen laptops prices start at $899.99 for the smaller model (15.6-inch) and $979.99 for the bigger model (17.3-inch). They will be available starting July 10.


HP Omen Desktops
The Omen Desktop tower PC is built for VR gaming and comes with Intel Core i7-6700K processor, up to 32GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics or AMD Radeon R9 390X graphics, up to 512SSD and up to 3TB HDD, LED lighting, optional liquid cooling system and advanced thermal system, to keep the system silent, while playing games. It can also be upgraded and customised with the latest hardware to crank up the gaming power.

HP has not announced the pricing, but says it will be available on HP.com and select retailers in August. 

HP Omen Display
The HP Display sports a 32-inch Quad HD display with wide viewing angles, 100 percent sRGB color space for true-to-life color. It offer a 5-millisecond response time and a 75Hz refresh rate. It's certified with AMD's FreeSync to reduce stutter. The monitor will be available in August, but the pricing is not known.
