Asus ZenFone Max 2015, ZenFone 2 Laser is now getting Android Marshmallow

As promised Asus has started rolling out Android Marshmallow update to ZenFone Laser 5-inch (ZE500KL), ZenFone 2 Laser 5.5-inch (ZE550KL) and ZenFone Max (ZC550KL).

In addition to Android Marshmallow goodies including Google Now on Tap, Doze Mode, App Permissions, and more, the update removes some pre-installed apps like Asus Email, Asus Messenger, and Asus Calendar. As a replacement, Asus recommends using Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Messenger instead. Asus also noted that the Marshmallow build will not support Apps2SD (apps to SD card) functionality, so you will have to move the apps to internal storage before updating you device to the new OS.

The Marshmallow update is being rolled out in phases, so it will take nearly a week to reach all devices. If you've not been notified of the update yet, you can check for the availability manually by going to Settings > About > System update. To know more hit the source link.

In the near future, the following Asus ZenFone's should also be updated to Marshmallow:

Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML)
Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition (ZE551ML)
Asus ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KG, ZE551KL, ZE600KL, ZE601KL)
Asus ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL)
Asus ZenFone Zoom (ZX551ML)
Asus PadFone S (PF500KL)
