Five OnePlus 3 up for charity auction in India ahead of official launch


Ahead of the June 14 launch, OnePlus is creating enough hype for the OnePlus 3. The Chinese smartphone maker has announced flash sales (China), world-wide pop-up events, Lab Community review programme and posted camera samples taken from OnePlus and more.

Now in India, OnePlus has announced that it will be conducting charity auction for the OnePlus 3. For the first-of-its-kind smartphone auction, OnePlus has partnered with Droom, an online automobile market place. Interested buyers will be able to bid on Droom.in to get a chance to win five OnePlus 3 units ahead of June 15 sale on Amazon India.

The OnePlus 3 charity auction has already begun and will end on June 12, 4pm. To participate in the auction you will have to first register on Droom website. Bidding for the OnePlus 3 starts from Re. 1, with no cap on the final amount. Every bid placed, will increase the price of the phone by Rs. 5. On the live OnePlus 3 product page, a live leaderboard will show the top 10 bidders in real time, out of which five will get to own the first ever OnePlus 3 in the country.

The OnePlus 3 units will be shipped to the top five bidders after the global launch along with a special gift. OnePlus says that the entire proceeds from the auction will go to a charity chosen by OnePlus community via voting on OnePlus forums.
