Google Home, a chromecast with microphone, speaker
The Google Home was unveiled at Google's I/O conference last month, as an answer to Amazon's Echo. The device acts as a home companion device and uses 'Okay Google' voice command to perform activities such as play music, manage every tasks and answer your questions.
Now The Information reports that Google Home is a "dressed up version of Chromecast video-streaming device". The report states that Google Home is essentially a microphone, speaker, plastic top with LED lights and fabric or metal bottom built into the hardware of Chromecast. The device uses the same ARM-based processor, WiFi Chips and is powered by the same Linux based OS used on Chromecast.
The report concludes stating that the Google Home will be competitively priced compared to Amazon Echo which costs $179, when it will be available later this year, or early next year.
