Honor 8 with 5.2-inch display, dual rear cameras launch expected on July 5


Last month Honor Huwaei's sub-brand Honor launched the Honor V8 smartphone with dual 12MP rear cameras. Now the brand is rumored to unveil a smaller model of Honor V8, the Honor 8 in July.

The Honor V8 is expected to sport a 5.2-inch 2.5D curved glass display and will come in Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) and QHD (2560 x 1440) screen resolution. For reference, the Honor V8 had a bigger 5.7-inch display.

It will retain the dual-rear camera setup, but will have a glass back with metal frame instead of metal back in the Honor V8. Apart from display, the rest of specs of Honor 8 is rumored to be similar to V8.

The possible pricing of Honor 8 have also been leaked. There will be total four variants, the base model (32GB storage/no NFC) is expected to be priced at CNY1999 ($304 | Rs. 20,500), while the top end model with QHD display, 128GB storage will cost CNY 2799 ($425 | Rs. 29,000). The other two models 32GB storage/NFC and 64GB storage are rumored to be priced CNY 2199 ($334 | Rs. 22,500) and CNY 2499 ($380 | Rs. 25,500) respectively. The official unveiling of Honor 8 is expected to take place on July 5, and the handset will go on sale starting from July 12.
