Metal-clad Meizu m3s announced in China

Meizu has introduced a new variant of m3, dubbed m3s in China. The m3s is basically a metal-clad version of m3 with a metal unibody design, instead of polycarbonate body, while the specs remain the same, except for battery.

The Meizu m3s features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor. It comes in two versions — 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage — with microSD card support. It runs FlyMe OS 5.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and has Hybrid dual SIM slot, which means the second SIM slot can accept either a nano SIM card or microSD card.

For photography, it gets 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture and 5P lens. For video calling and selfies there's 5-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is fueled by 3020mAh battery (2870mAh on Meizu m3). It also boasts the same mTouch 2.1 fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.

The Meizu m3s 2GB RAM + 16GB storage version is priced at CNY 699 ($105 | Rs. 7,000) and the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model costs CNY 899 ($135 | Rs. 9,000). The phone will be available for order in China starting today from company website and will go on sale from June 17. It comes in Gold, Silver, Grey and Pink colors.
