[Update] OnePlus 3 to be announced on June 15 in China, VR event on June 14

After launching OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X, OnePlus is all set to unveil its latest flagship, the OnePlus 3 on June 15 in China. The Chinese smartphone maker shared a OnePlus 3 teaser image on Weibo, confirming the date. The event will take place at 10am China time (7:30am IST).

Update: Note that OnePlus 3 has released  VR Loop app for the VR event and the counter on the app ends on June 14 (10pm IST). This could mean that the OnePlus 3 VR event will take place on June 14, while on June 15, OnePlus will unveil the OnePlus for the Chinese market. The reason for two events may have to do with OnePlus shipping the OnePlus 3 with two OS, Oxygen for the global OnePlus 3, and China-specific Hydrogen OS. (Via)

OnePlus has given away 30,000 units of Loop VR headsets for watching the event in VR. As for Indian users, you can grab the headset for Re. 1 on Amazon India from June 3 and June 7. The OnePlus 3 will be available for purchase on June 16, and China will be the first market, where it will be available followed by other countries.

As for the specs, the OnePlus 3 is expected to come with full metal body, 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display, Snapdragon 820 SoC w/ Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB/6GB RAM (variants), 64GB storage, 16MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C, 3000mAh battery and run Oxygen OS (international)/Hydrogen OS (China) based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
