The rugged Samsung Galaxy S7 Active with 4000mAh battery gets official
Samsung unpacked the Galaxy S7/S7 edge at MWC in February and now the company has introduced a ruggedized version of Galaxy S7 dubbed Galaxy S7 Active, which will be exclusive to U.S carrier AT&T.
For the rugged design, the Galaxy S7 Active has passed U.S Military Standard (MIL-STD) 810G tests and is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance.The phone can survive drops onto concrete slabs from up to four feet and is able to withstand exposure to high and low temperatures, fog, humidity, and is even shock resistant. It also comes with security features like Samsung's Knox security suite, that provides seperation of work and personal content
As fo the specs, the Galaxy S7 Active comes with a bigger battery capacity of 4000mAh battery, that should deliver 14 percent more usage than Galaxy S7 (w/ 3000mAh battery. The other specs will be the same including 5.1-inch Quad HD display Super AMOLED display w/ Gorilla Glass 4 protection, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt expandable storage, 12MP Dual-Pixel rear camera, 5MP front camera, 4G LTE, NFC, wireless charging and fingerprint sensor. It runs Android Marshmallow.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will be available starting June 10, exclusively on AT&T, both online, and in stores, and costs $26.50 per month (for 30 months) on contract or $33.13 for 24 months. The total comes to around $795 (Rs. 53,000). It comes in Sandy Gold, Cammo Green, and Titanium Gray colors.
