Akyumen's smartphones and tablets have built-in projectors


California based startup Akyumen is set to release an entire line of products with built-in projectors. The company in September will start selling a 10.1-inch Windows tablet, 5.5-inch Android smartphone and an 7-inch phablet with dual booth functionality.

The most interesting of the lot is the 7-inch phablet called Holofone that runs desktop version of Windows 10 and Android Lollipop. It comes with a 35 lumen, 720p projector that can project a full Windows desktop experience up to 100 inches on any given wall and surface.


The Holofone features 7-inch Full HD (1080p) display, Intel Atom x5-Z8300 Cherry Trail processor, 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, with storage expansion support via microSD card. For photography, it has 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, PDAF and Super Slow motion technology, while on the front there's 5-megapixel shooter. For connectivity it supports 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI, USB Type-C and GPS. A 3500mAh battery runs the whole package.

The Holofone will launch on November 1, but is now up for pre-order in a number of packages starting from $750.

Basic Package ($750) : Sabertooth pen, high quality ear buds, basic device stand, screen protector

Premium Package ($850) : Sabertooth pen, high quality ear buds, screen protector, external wireless Bluetooth speaker, Saber stand with built-in battery, allowing up to an additional 5 hours of battery life

Advanced Package ($950) : Sabertooth pen, high quality ear buds, screen protector, external wireless Bluetooth speaker, game controller, Saber stand with built-in battery, allowing up to an additional 5 hours of battery life

Education Package ($600) : Basic Saber Stand, Sabertooth Pen, DNA Earbuds, Basic DNA Speakers, Screen protector and Akyumen School Bag


The 10.1-inch tablet is called Falcon tablet and features similar specs to Holofone, but has large 10.1-inch screen, 40 lumen projector and 6000mAh battery. However, it does not have cellular capabilities and will sell for $650 to $950.


The last product is the Hawk Android smartphone with 5.5-inch display. It features MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 128GB storage and 35 lumen projector. Prices start at $750 and goes up to $950.
