Google is working on a virtual reality version of Chrome for Android

Google is working on bringing virtual reality support to Chrome browser for Android. The latest beta and developer version of Chrome for Android includes two new VR setting, that will enable users to browse any part of the web on Chrome for Android in VR.

Chrome Beta contains WebVR support which enables enhanced VR device compatibility and allows developers to build VR-ready websites.

It also includes VR Shell, which will allow Android smartphone users to browse any website in VR mode, using the Cardboard or even Daydream-ready headsets. However it is not included in the beta version and is limited to Dev Channel build of the app.

Currently users need to wear VR headset for VR-ready website, but they will have to remove it for browsing non-VR sites. However, Google is working on adding fully immersive browsing capability to chrome, allowingusers to browse the entire website in virtual reality. The upcoming functional VR Shell support for Chrome will allow Cardboard and Daydream-ready devices to browse websites with a headset.
