Google Search gets new hotel deals and flight tracking features
Google's has added new features to its Search functionality, aimed at travelers, making it easier for them to search for best deals on flight booking and hotel.
Google Search gets a new tool that will allow users to filter hotel search results based on their specific needs such as ratings or price with just one tap of their phones. This will make it easier for users to search exactly what they are looking for. This feature is currently available in the U.S and will roll out world-wide later this year.
Next, now when you search for a hotel, you will see a "Deal" label if the hotel's price is lower than historical pricing or discounts to the normal rate for those dates. Various filters like 'budget' or 'luxury' will help you narrow results down and provide related details. Additionally, you will also be shown deal alerts (or Tips) like “Save $105 if you stay Wed, Jul 13 – Fri, Jul 15”. Hotel Deals and Tips will be rolled out over the coming months.
Lastly, Google is also making it easier to track flight prices in Google Flights. You can now opt in to track fare changes for a date and route combination or track specific flights being considered. When prices increase or decrease, you will be notified via email and Google Now cards. This feature will roll out in the next few weeks in all 26 countries where Google Flights is available.
