Lenovo introduces Air 13 Pro laptop in China as competitor to Xiaomi's Mi Notebook Air
Xiaomi yesterday launched its first ever laptop, the Mi Notebook Air with 13-inch display, Intel Skylake processor, 8GB RAM NVIDIA graphics and $750 price tag as a competitor to Apple's MacBook. On the same day Xiaomi's Chinese counterpart Lenovo announced the Air 13 Pro laptop.
Lenovo's Air 13 Pro laptop runs Windows 10 and sports 13.3-inch Full HD display and is powered by sixth gen Interl Core i5-6200U processor backed by 4GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce 940MX GPU w/ 2GB dedicated memory.
The laptop comes with 256GB PCIe SSD and, HD webcam, SDXC card reader 1w speakers and backlit keyboard. It also includes USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, USB Type-C port, headset jack, dual microphones, WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1.
Even though Xiaomi’s Mi Notebook Air has double RAM and more powerful processor, Lenovo’s Air 13 packs fingerprint scanner for added security. It also has a slightly larger 46Wh capacity battery, compared to 40Wh on the Mi Notebook.
Lenovo's Air 13 Pro laptop is now available for pre-order and carries the exact same price tag as Xiaomi's 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air at CNY 4499 ($750 | Rs. 51,400). However, the price is expected to increase to CNY 5499 ($825 | Rs. 55,000) after the pre-sale period ends.
