MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM for Xiaomi Redmi Note, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi 2, Mi Max now available


As promised, Xiaomi has started roll out of MIUI 8 Global beta ROM (v6.7.5) to supported devices. The first batch of devices eligible to get the update include Redmi Note (3G and 4G variants), Redmi Note Prime, Redmi 2 and Mi Max (32GB).

Owners of aforementioned Xiaomi devices will get MIUI 8 OTA update notifications on their phone, if not you can click 'Updater' app to check for updates. Or else you can download the MIUI 8 Beta ROM from MIUI forum and flash it manually.

MIUI 8 brings several new features including redesigned colors; new Gallery app; Scrolling screenshots; new calculator app with advance calculation and conversions; floating to add your favorite apps and frequent actions for better one-handed control; MIUI caller ID to identify numbers Amazon, Swiggy, Dominos, Zomato, etc; T9 Hindi keyboard, Mobikwik integration; Power Saving Mode and more.

Xiaomi said that it will roll out MIUI 8 Beta ROMs to the rest of the Xiaomi devices including Mi 2/2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 5, Mi Note, Redmi 1S,  Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon 650 SoC) gradually.

The MIUI 8 Global Stable ROM for public will be rolled out from August 16.
