New render offer first look at Google's Angelfish, Swordfish Android Wear smartwatches

Last week Android Police revealed that Google is working on two new Android Wear smartwatches code named Angelfish and Swordfish with Google Assistant integration. Now the same source has released renders of the smartwatches, offering a first look at their possible design. The renders are recreated based on evidence from reliable source, says Android Police.

As per the render, Angelfish which is larger of the two has a circular display and large crown button on the side with two small buttons on either side of it. The watch face appears to be a new iteration of Google's new customizable faces in Android Wear 2.0.

Earlier reports have mentioned that Angelfish will be 14mm think, comes in 42mm/46mm sizes, and feature LTE connectivity, built-in GPS and heart rate monitor. Thanks to GPS and LTE connectivity, the wearable can run on its own, and need not be controlled by a smartphone.

The Swordfish on the other hand, has a thinner, lighter, smaller design than Angelfish and will also have a circular display with curved bezel. It only has a small crown button on the right. The wearable will have a 42mm diameter, 10.6mm thickness and support Google's interchangeable MODE bands (not supported by Angelfish). However, it will not support GPS and LTE, and may not have heart rate monitor.

Currently the final name of both smartwatches are not known, but according to Android Police, they will be unveiled some time after the launch of 2016 Nexus devices.
