Access driving license, vehicle registration certificates using DigiLocker app in India

Last year, the Indian government introduced DigiLocker app, an online locker where you can safely store your important government documents like Adhaar card, Pan card and more. Now DigiLocker's Android app has been updated with a new functionality that will  let you upload soft copies of your driving licenses and vehicle registration papers.

This will be useful for people as they can easily show their digital copy of driving license and vehicle registration documents saved on their phones to traffic police, instead of carrying a physical copy.

You can sign up on the DigiLocker app for Android, which verifies your phone number via OTP. After verifying your number, you will have to enter your Adhaar Card  into the app, and then you can upload your documents.

DigiLocker is basically a secure cloud storage platform where any Adhaar user can get 1GB of storage to store their documents digitally. The app lets you sync all your important documents like voter ID card, PAN card, driving license, vehicle registration papers, certificates and more.All these documents when viewed through DigiLocker app is considered valid by the inspecting authority across India.

Currently, DigiLocker has 21,26,332 registered users with 24,11,702 uploaded documents and has issued over 4,26,73,232 documents as on September 1 2016.
