Google Pixel, Pixel XL live photos leaked

Google has already confirmed October 4 unveiling of new phones, expected to be the Pixel and Pixel XL. Ahead of the event, both phones have surfaced in leaked live photos, courtesy of Android Police, showing a clear look at their design.

The new photos are in line with previously leaked renders and show the Pixel (5-inch) and Pixel XL (5.5-inch) in white hues. As seen in the photo, the Pixel phones rear panel are made of metal (aluminum) and glass. The area around the fingerprint scanner and camera w/ LED flash (i.e. the upper portion) appears to be made out of glass, while the rest is covered with metal. On the front we can see the slim bezels, front facing camera and few sensors.

In addition, Android Police citing trusted source also revealed that the smaller Pixel phone will be priced at $649 (Rs. 44,000), which is more expensive than previous gen Nexus phone. For reference, last year's smaller Nexus 5X launched for $379 for the base 16GB storage model, and $429 for the 32GB model.

One of the reason for the higher price, could be, unlike last year's Nexus devices, the new Pixel phones will have the same high-end hardware inside. To recap the Nexus 5X specs were weaker, when compared to Nexus 6P in the processor, RAM, storage options and camera (front) department. The new Pixel phones are expected to have Snapdragon 821 SoC and 4GB RAM.
