Google Play Music now available in India
Google has finally launched the Play Music store officially in India. The music store took a long time to hit the country, as it has been available in other countries including the U.S since 2011.
Google Play Music option will now be present alongside Movies, Books and Newsstand in the Play Store. The music in Google Play Music store is sorted in three broad categories: top songs, top albums and top releases. It appears that apart from Bollywood music and regional language music, the entire international catalogue is available as well.
Most of the single tracks are priced at Rs. 15. However, album prices vary, depending on Artist/ Album release date and cost about Rs. Rs 90 – Rs. 200. Both are priced bit higher when compared to Apple iTunes and Airtel's Wynk. Furthermore, users can upload up to 50,000 songs stored on your PC via Chrome, so you can stream them from the app.
Unfortunately, some of the services including unlimited streaming, radio, podcasts and family plans are not available at the moment.
Google Play Music is now live on web, Android and iOS devices. It will compete directly with Apple's iTunes and Airtel's Wynk Music for digital purchases market in the country.
