HP announces Pavilion Wave, Elite Slice desktop PCs


HP has introduced two new Windows 10 desktop PC called Pavilion Wave and Elite Slice specifically designed to be used in home, office or living room.

The Pavilion Wave is a 10.3-inch triangle-shaped tower  PC that looks like a speaker. It has parabolic reflector with an integrated speaker on top to help dissipate heat and deliver 360-degree sound. It also features dual microphones that enables Cortana via voice input.

The desktop PC offers support for up to 4K displays and includes 3 x USB 3.0 ports, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, an HDMI port, a DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet and headphone jack.  It can be configured with up to 6th generation Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, up to 2TB HDD, and an optional dual drive with 128GB SSD. It also offers an optional Radeon R9 M470 discrete graphics for photo editing or light gaming.

The HP Elite Slice is a modular desktop PC  that allows user to add additional stackable components they want to use. The additional components include an audio module with Bang & Olufsen enhancements, an optical disk drive module and HP Collaboration cover with a touch button for easy control of Skype.

Each module including the core component has USB Type-C like port called HP Slice connector at the bottom. This will let users stack the components on top of one another and communicate via the connector. HP will also introduce a wireless charging cover for the Elite PC, that will let users to charge compatible device by placing them on top of the PC.

The base unit of Elite Slice houses 2 x USB Type-C ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort, and HDMI ports to connect to monitor, keyboard and mouse. The base unit also has Ethernet, headphone/microphone jacks, dual mics, and an optional fingerprint reader. It features features 6th gen Intel Core i7 processor, up to 32GB RAM and up 512GB storage.

The Pavilion Wave is prices start at $549.99 and will be available from September 23 from the company website, and the HP Elite Slice is costs $699 (Rs. 46,000) and will go on sale later this month.
