Huawei to start manufacturing smartphones in India from October

Huawei is the latest Chinese smartphone maker to join the Government's "Make In India" initiative. In a bid to strengthen its position in India, Huawei has announced that it will start manufacturing smartphones in India next month.

Starting from the first week of October 2016, Huawei in collaboration with Flex will manufacture one of the Honor smartphone models in Flex manufacturing plant in Chennai. By the end of 2017, the plant will have capacity to make three million units. Thanks to local manufacturing, we can expect Huawei to price their smartphones more competitively.

Apart from strengthening its market position in India, Huawei will also strengthen its after sells services in the country with over 200 service centers, including more than 30 exclusive Huawei service centers. The company will also partner with more than 50,000 retail outlets by the end of this year to sell its products.
