Sony Xperia C5 Ultra now receiving Android Marshmallow

Less than a week after releasing Android Marshmallow to Xperia C4 and C4 Dual, Sony is now pushing Marshmallow to Xperia C5 Ultra (both single SIM and dual SIM).

The single SIM E5553 and E5506 Xperia C5 Ultra models are getting build number 29.2.A.0.122, while the dual SIM model E5533 and E5563 receiving build number 29.2.B.122.

As always the update is being rolled out as an OTA update in phases depending on the markets, regions and country (India not yet available), so it will take some time to reach all the devices. If you've not received it yet, you can check it manually by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update. Or else you can download the full Marshmallow firmware files from here.

Android Marshmallow for Xperia C5 Ultra brings new features like app permissions, Google Now on Tap, enhanced privacy settings, Doze Mode for improved battery, new camera interface, new Xperia Messaging, Direct Share and more.

To recap, the Xperia C5 Ultra was launched later with Android 5.0 Lollipop and the specs include 6-inch 1080p display, octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 13MP rear camera w/ LED flash, 13MP front camera with selfie flash, 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots (optional), NFC and 2930mAh battery. Currently it is available in India for Rs. 25,890
