TP-Link Neffos X1, Neffos X1 Max with Helio P10 SoC announced


Earlier this year in January popular networking device maker TP-Link set foot into smartphone market with the Neffos C5, Neffos C5L and Neffos C5X. They were followed by the entry-level Neffos Y5L. Now at IFA 2016, the company has expanded its smartphone portfolio with two new models dubbed Neffos X1 and Neffos X1 Max.

Both phones sports metal unibody design, run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and have a fingerprint scanner on the back. They also feature similar specs, with the exception of screen size, RAM/storage options and battery.

The TP-Link Neffos X1 has 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by 1.8GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor paired with Mali T860 GPU. It comes in two variant – 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 3GB RAM/32GB storage. The storage can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB).

For photography, it gets 13-megapixel Sony IMX298 camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens and PDAF. For selfies and video calling there's 5-megapixel front camera. Connectivity duties are handled by dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It is backed by 2250mAh battery.

The TP-Link Neffos X1 Max comes with a bigger 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and 3000mAh battery which is rated for up to 400 hours of standby mode and 13 hours of talk time. . It also comes in two variants – 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage. Rest of the specs are similar to Neffox X1.

The Neffos X1 and X1 Max prices start at 199 Euros ($ 222 | Rs. 15,000) and 249 Euros ($ 278 | Rs. 18500 approx.), respectively and will roll out in Q4 2016.

  1. TP-Link has introduced Neffos X1 and X1 Max smartphones at the ongoing IFA this week.The Neffos X1 has been priced at EUR 199 (roughly Rs. 15,000) while the Neffos X1 Max has been priced at EUR 249 (roughly Rs. 18,650).
