WhatsApp Beta for Android gets image drawing, stickers, bigger emojis, front-facing flash and more

WhatsApp is testing a handful of new features on its app's beta version of Android. The v2.16.262/263 bring a couple of new features like image drawing, doodling, stickers, bigger emojis and more to improve chatting experience.

In the latest beta version, when you click a photo using the in-app camera, you'll be able to add stickers, text and even draw or scribble on top of it. There's an 'Undo' option as well, to go back to previous steps. It's worth mentioning that, all these features work only when you take photos from WhatsApp's camera and not photos from the gallery.

It also has support for selfie flash when taking photo from in-app camera. In case your phone does not have a selfie flash, your phone's display will double as flash, and brighten up when you click a selfie. Additionally, when you hold video capture button, you will be able to slide your finger up and down to zoom in and zoom out.

Moving on the latest WhatsApp beta now supports bigger emojis which comes in four different sizes. Telegram links are also enabled within the app while chatting, which was blocked earlier. Also included in the new beta is ability to send multiple chats at once while forwarding messages and now frequent contacts will appear on top while forwarding or sharing messages.

It is worth mentioning that all these new features are included in WhatsApp beta, which you can download after joining the tester program on Play Store  or by grabbing the APK for v2.16.263 directly from APK Mirror. The new features will roll out to the public version of WhatsApp soon.
