Xiaomi launches Mi Band 2 in India for Rs. 1,999


Alongside the Mi Air Purifier 2, Xiaomi also launched the Mi Band 2 fitness tracker in India. It is the successor of the popular Mi Band that was launched backed in April this year for a price tag of Rs. 999. The Mi Band 2 comes with an OLED display and heart rate sensor, both of which were missing in its predecessor.

The Mi Band 2 has a 0.42-inch OLED screen, which apart from showing time, displays, steps, distance, calories burned, heart rate and battery status when you tap the capacitive button below the screen. It also offers vibration alerts for incoming notification such as calls, messages from the connected smartphone.

The fitness tracker has a water resistance body, thanks to IP67 certification, and also sports a new wristband design, that is made of skin-friendly elastomer material. It comes with an upgraded pedometer algorithm to measure heart rate, fitness & sleep data more accurately.

The band connects to compatible devices (Android 4.4+/iOS 7+) over Bluetooth 4.0 LE and  is fueled by 70mAh battery, that promises up to 20 days of standby time, and weighs just 7g.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is priced Rs. 1,999 and will be available on Mi.com starting 12pm on September 27, and on Amazon India starting September 30.
