Android Nougat update for Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 edge under development

Samsung has started Android 7.0 Nougat firmware development for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. The news comes after Samsung released beta version of Android Nougat to Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.

The initial Nougat firmware for Galaxy S6 and S6 edge carries a build number XXS5DPK7, but that's likely to change on the final firmware that will roll out to these phones.

As far as roll out is concerned, Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will reportedly not get the Nougat update until 2017. Moreover, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, which is currently being tested as beta on select devices, will also not get the Nougat update before the end of this year.
