Apple iPhone 8 will reportedly have curved, bezel-less 5-Inch and 5.8-Inch display

Earlier this month reports suggested that the next gen iPhones (iPhone 8/ 8 Plus) will have OLED display and wireless charging functionality. Now a new report claims that the next iPhone will sport larger screen with bezeless design and curved edges.

The new claims were made by Barclays Research analysts Blayne Curtis, Christopher Hemmelgarn, ThomaBlayne Curtis, Christopher Hemmelgarn, Thomas O’Malley and Jerry Zhang, citing sources within Apple’s supply chain.

According to the analysts, the iPhone 8 will feature 5-inch screen, while the iPhone 8 will sport a bigger iPhone 8 Plus will have 5.8-inch screen. For reference the current gen iPhones have 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen.
Larger and Bezel-less - iPhone 8 design didn't sound 100% locked down but we believe the move is to a bezel-less design with screen sizes getting larger and curved edges in the original envelope. The iPhone 8 moves to 5" (from 4.7") and the Plus moves to 5.8" (from 5.5").
In line with earlier reports, the analysts also revealed the next iPhones will have an OLED screen, but only the Plus model with 5.8-inch screen will use OLED display technology, a switch from LCD displays used in current iPhones.

OLED displays are  sharper, brighter and more energy efficient than LCD technology. Apple's main OLED display suppliers will reportedly be Samsung, LG and Sharp (owned by Foxconn) by 2018.

Back in March well-known KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had also predicted that Apple will launch a 5.8-inch iPhone with curved OLED display and glass casing in 2017.

Note that Apple has not yet confirmed any of these claims, so it is advised to take the report with a pinch of salt. However, iPhone turns 10 next year, and as part of its 10th anniversary, major design changes are expected.
