Apple may launch three new iPad Pro models in March 2017, including a 10.9-inch bezel-free model

Besides revealing details of iPhone 8, Barclays Research analysts citing sources within the company's Asian supply chain also noted that Apple will release three new iPad Pro models in March.

In addition to upgraded 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro model, Apple will also release a new bezel free 10.9-inch model. This model will have the same physical size as current 9.7-inch iPad Pro model, which means the display will have an edge-to-edge design from all sides, indicating the Home Button getting an axe.

In the past multiple reports have claimed that Apple is working on a 10-inch iPad Pro model, but the screen size vaired. Back in August KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple will release a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro model in 2017, while Japan website Mac Otakara claimed a new 10.1-inch iPad Pro will launch early 2017.

The analysts also revealed that the 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be a low-cost model with entry-level specs and compliment the 7.9-inch iPad mini, which will not receive an upgrade. However Apple will continue to manufacture and sell the iPad mini 4, which was released in 2015.

The analysts did not reveal any details about the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, but an earlier report from Mac Otakara, suggested that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will get some of the features of the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro model like True Tone display, 12MP rear facing iSight camera and True Tone flash. The report also said that all the three new iPad Pro model will have quad-microphones, instead of dual setup used in the current model and retain 3.5mm headphone jacks.

An earlier report from Kuo suggested that more 'revolutionary' changes to iPads are expected in 2018, including a switch to OLED displays. The next-gen iPhones are also most likely to get OLED upgrade as well as bezel-less design in 2017.
