vivo India launches V5 with 20MP front camera at Rs. 17,980
Chinese smartphone maker vivo has launched its latest selfie-centric smartphone, the V5 in India. The main highlight of V5 is its 20MP Sony IMX376 camera on the front, which according to vivo is a first for a smartphone. It also has a front facing LED, which is called Moonlight Glow, that lights up the picture irrespective of the lightning condition to induce natural glow on the face.
As for the other specs, the vivo V5 sports an all-metal body and features 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass display. It is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor with Mali T860 GPU, 4GB RAM, and the storage on-board is 32GB, which can be increased via microSD card.
At the back, there's 13MP camera accompanied by LED flash and PDAF. Connectivity duties are handled by hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB OTG.
Other features include fingerprint scanner and HiFi sound backed by AK4376 audio chip. It runs Funtouch OS 2.5 based Android Marshmallow and is fueled by 3000mAh battery.
The vivo V5 has been priced at Rs. 17,980 and will be available from retail stores across the country starting November 26 in Crown Gold and Space Grey colors. vivo also said that it will launch a upgraded V5 variant, called V5 Plus in the country soon.
