Samsung Galaxy S8 launch planned for April in New York

After the Galaxy Note7 fiasco, Samsung lost confidence amongst customers, as a result the South Korean tech giant is being extra-cautious with the Galaxy S8 to make sure nothing goes wrong with it.

For the past three years Samsung has been presenting the Galaxy S series flagship at MWC. However, according to a new report the company plans to launch its upcoming Galaxy S8 flagship at a dedicated event in New York in April instead of MWC 2017.

While Samsung itself has not issued an official statement regarding the launch event or the postponement, the news comes from participants present in Samsung's Global strategy meeting taking place at Samsung South Korea head quarter.

Samsung is also said to be working with external agencies to execute plans to recover lost confidence in its product before releasing on the market, and has tightened security to minimize Galaxy S8 leaks.

This is not the first time, we are hearing this news. Earlier The Wall Street Journal citing sources said that Samsung is looking to delay Galaxy S8 announcement until after MWC 2017, and plans to unveil the phone as late as April.
