Sony Xperia X, Xperia X Compact now receiving Nougat

After Xperia XA and Xperia X Performance, two more Xperia X series smartphones are now receiving Android's latest flavor. Sony is rolling out the Nougat update for Xperia X (F5121), Xperia X Dual (F5122) and Xperia X Compact (F5321).

The new firmware update pushes the build number to version 34.2.A.0.266 and is currently live in Middle East, Russia, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Latin America and Turkey. This means the update is being rolled out in phases, and a wider release can be expected in the coming days.

Android Nougat for Xperia X and Xperia X Compact will bring multi-window support, improved battery life, Sony's new messaging app, and Google Now integration with Xperia home screen.

Now, the only Xperia X series device to get Nougat is the Xperia XA Ultra, and given Sony's impressive roll-out progress, the update is likely to hit the phone soon. Apart from Xperia X line up phones, Sony has confirmed Android Nougat for Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium.
