Honor Magic with curved display and AI features goes official
Following the footsteps of Xiaomi, Huawei sub-brand Honor has unveiled its futuristic looking smartphone called Honor Magic at an event in China. But instead of having a border-less screen found on Mix MIX, the Honor Magic has eight-sided curved design and features four-edged 3D glass at both front and back. It also comes with a bunch of AI features as well.
Honor Magic has intelligent sensors for eye tracking feature called WiseScreen Sensor Magic to light up the screen automatically when you look at it, and turn off when you put it away. There's a face recognition feature called FaceCode Intelligent Recognition which reveals message notifications to pre-registered faces. There's also a home button on the front which has fingerprint sensor baked into it.
Coming to the specs, the Honor Magic features 5.09-inch QHD AMOLED display and is powered by 2.3GHz octa-core Kirin 950 processor backed by Mali T880-MP4 GPU and 4GB RAM. On-board storage is 64GB. It runs Android Marshmallow based Honor Magic Live OS. It gets dual 12MP rear cameras color and monochrome with f/2.2 aperture and dual-tone LED flash. The selfie shooter is an 8MP unit with f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C. A 2900mAh battery runs the show supported by Huawei Magic Power fast charging technology, which allows the phone's battery to recharge up to 40 percent with just 10 minutes of charging.
The Honor Magic is priced at CNY 3699 ($532 | Rs. 36,000) and will be available in China starting December 16 in Golden Black and Porcelain White colors.
