Acer Predator 21 X with curved display will be available in February starting at $8,999


The Acer Predator 21 X gaming laptop was unveiled back in August last year touted as the world's first laptop to sport curved display. The laptop was a gaming power house and was targeted at gamers without budget limits, indicating that it will carry an expensive price tag. Acer at that time said that the Predator 21 X will go on sale in Q1 2017, but did not reveal the pricing and availability details.

Now at the ongoing CES 2017 in Las Vegas, Acer has announced that the Predator 21 X will be available in February in North America and EMEA starting at $8,999 and €9,999 respectively,which translates to a whopping Rs. 6,12,000.

The Acer Predator 21 X comes with a full-sized mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches, with programmable backlit keys, allowing you to customize the LEDs in 16.7 million color options. It also has Tobi infrared eye-tracking sensors in the display, which lets you control compatible games without using a controller

The gaming laptop sports a 21-inch curved IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels. The processing power is handled by 7th-gen Intel's Kaby Lake processor and has two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card with SLI, which makes it VR-ready. It can be configured with up to 64GB DDR4 RAM and comes with up to four 512GB SSD,and has room for another 1TB HDD.

It includes 2T2R 802.11ac + Bluetooth WiFi module, 2 x USB Type-A ports, a USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 3 support, and 2 x DisplayPort for connectivity. There's an IR camera as well for Windows Hello secure login.

The laptop comes pre-loaded with PredatorSense software,  that allows users to control and customize central interface, overclocking, lighting and fan control. To keep the machine cool during long gaming sessions, it has five fans with several heat pipes. It also comes bundled with a hard-shell carrying case.
