Asus Tinker Board is a powerful Raspberry Pi rival with 2X memory, 4K video


Asus has announced Tinker Board, a Raspberry Pi like single board computer aimed at developers and hobbyists. It is exactly the same size as Raspberry Pi 3, but gets faster processor and more RAM. It also supports 4K video and 192kHz/24-but audio.

The Asus Tinker Board features quad-core Rockchip RK3288 ARM Cortex-A17 processor with ARM Mali-T764 GPU. It packs 2GB RAM, microSD card slot for storage.

Connectivity options include 4 x USB 2.0 ports, micro USB port,HDMI out port, Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 for connectivity. There's also a 40-pin internal header for additional expansion options.

Asus says the Tinker Board supports Debian Linux and Kodi media center applications. It is priced at $60 and is now available in UK and Europe.
