Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge receiving Nouagt update in India, Samsung Pay teased
Samsung India is pushing Android 7.0 Nougat update to Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in the country. The update is an over-the-air rollout.
The Nougat update for Galaxy S7 has the build number G930FXXU1DQAZ, and the download package weighs at 1285.64, while for Galaxy S7 edge the build number is G935FXXU1DQAZ, and the update size is 1290.74MB.
Nougat for Galaxy S7 and S7 edge brings several UX and performance fixes, including improvements to notifications, multi-window mode, Always-On display, Samsung Pass, performance mode to extend battery life and enhancements to the system upgrade and app installation processor, along with latest Android security patch.
It's worth mentioning that, after Nougat update the screen resolution will be set to Full HD. You can change it back to Quad HD from the display settings. You can switch back to Quad HD resolution from the Settings » Display menu, and the settings apply after reboot. This feature is part of a new power saving mode, letting users to change to a lower screen resolution to increase battery life
It also appears that Samsung is gearing up for the launch of Samsung Pay in the country. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, upon starting, after Nougat update pops up a message that reads “The future of payments is coming soon!”. Moreover, the Samsung Pay app itself is installed on both phones, which indicates Samsung is all set to deploy Samsung Pay in India.
Besides India, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge units in China, France, Malaysia, South Korea, UAE, Russia and UK are already being updated to Nougat.
