LG G6 unveiling to take place February 26

LG has already confirmed that it will unveil the flagship G6 at this year's MWC in Barcelona. Now the company has announced that it will be hosting an event on February 26 in Barcelona, a day before MWC kicks off to unveil the G6. The invite shared by LG just reads "See More, Play More" which relates to the new screen aspect ratio of 18:9. The company says that  the new aspect ratio will deliver a “more immersive viewing experience”.

Lot is riding on the LG G6, after the failure of the semi-modular G5, which resulted in disappointing sales for the company last year. The company usually takes risk with the design of its phone be it the flagship G3, G4 and G5 or the V-series, but with G6, LG has carefully listened to the customers needs.

And no LG G6 will not have a modular design, instead have a standard design with metal and glass body, and the 3.5mm jack will still be present.

In a recently released teaser video, LG asked customers what they are looking for in a ideal smartphone, and the feedback includes bigger screen in a smaller body, water resistance, great camera and reliability. In the end of the video LG confirms all this is included in the G6.

LG has also confirmed that G6 will have 5.7-inch QHD+ LCD display with 2880 x 1440 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio, with very slim bezels. It will also have an AI assistant and feature heat pipes to lower the temperature to ensure safety. The phone will most likely have Snapdragon 835 processor, USB Type-C port, dual-rear cameras and Android Nougat.

Other details are scarce at the moment.
