Samsung Galaxy S8 to reportedly come with Windows-10 like Continuum feature

Microsoft's Conitinuum for Phone feature lets a smartphone running Windows 10 Mobile (with hardware requirements) to function like a desktop when connected to any external display using a portable dock. Now if a new rumor is to be believed, Samsung will bring Windows 10 Continuum-like functionality to Android with its upcoming Galaxy S8.

Samsung's take on Continuum will be reportedly called "Samsung Display Experience". In a leaked presentation slide a Samsung phone is connected to a monitor, a wireless keyboard and mouse for a desktop like experience.

Surprisingly there is no dock to connect the monitor and peripherals. Instead the display will directly connect to the phone via cable, while the keyboard and mouse are connected wirelessly to the device. With the lack of dock, it is yet to be seen how users will connect pen drives or other peripherals while using Galaxy S8 as a desktop.

The feature will also give users an extended work-space with a full desktop experience along with multi-tasking, similar to Remix OS. If true, Samsung would have to introduce a native desktop OS.

As always, treat this rumor with a pinch of salt.
