Xiaomi announces Mi Router HD with 8GB storage


Xiaomi at CES 2017 introduced a new wireless router called Mi Router HD that does more than just provide wireless connectivity by offering storage and personal cloud setups.

The Mi Router HD has a built-in surveillance-class hard drive with capacity of up to 8TB to store and back up files from all devices. It can also automatically sync the data with Dropbox and integrate with Sonos audio system. Xiaomi said that it will add more services soon with software updates.

It comes with four high-gain PCB array antennas for solid connectivity and has a Qualcomm IPQ8064 network processor for up to 2600Mbps transfer speeds in a 4 x 4 MU-MIMO mode.

The Mi Router HD is priced at $200 (Rs. 13,500) for the 1TB version, while the 8TB version will cost $500 (Rs. 34,000). It will be available in China in Q1, 2017.
