HP announces Pro X2 12-inch rugged convertible

HP has announced the Pro X2 612 G2 convertible with a built-in kickstand and detachable keyboard. The tablet is designed to survive drops, dust and shocks thanks to the MIL-STD 810G tested tested casing, giving the tablet an edge over Microsoft's Surface Pro.

Thanks to the built-in kickstand and detachable keyboard, the convertible can be used in multiple modes including commercial use, presentation mode, inking mode for notes, tablet mode for data collection, and notebook mode.

The Pro X2 features 12-inch Full HD display and will be available with the choice of Intel's Pentium Core M3, i5 and i7 processors, with 8GB RAM and up to 512GB SSD. It supports stylus input for Windows Ink feature.



It  also has Windows Hello compatible camera, fingerprint reader, microSD card slot, NFC, USB Type-C port, a USB 3.0 port, SIM card slot for cellular connectivity and headphone jack.

The Windows 10 covertible weighs 1.9 pound (2.7 pounds with keyboard) and HP claims that the Pro X2 will last up fo 11 hours on charge.

The HP Pro X2 is available from today starting at $979, and HP will offer optional accessories like rugged case ($49), USB-C dock ($149) and a USB-C travel hub ($49).
