Nougat is rolling out to Moto Z Play in India and Brazil

Motorola has started rolling out Android Nougat update to Moto Z Play in India and Brazil, Moto's two biggest markets.

The update is rolling out over-the-air with build number NPN25.137-15-2 and is 1.12GB in size, therefore a WiFi download is advised.

Nougat for Moto Z Play brings new features like Doze Mode, new emojis, multi-windows support to run two apps simultaneously, direct boot, along with January Security patch among others.Unfortunately Moto Z Play will not be getting support for Google's Daydream VR platform, due to hardware limitations.

The update also brings new Moto Experiences including Moto Display landscape mode, Hasselblad TrueZoom mode settings and improvements, 'Swipe to Shrink the screen' and fingerprint sensor for lock screen (to disable and enable locking the screen when the screen is on and you touch the fingerprint sensor).

To refresh, the Moto Z Play is a mid-range smartphone priced at Rs. 24,999, and is part of Motorola's semi-modular Moto Z series, with support for all available Moto Mods. The specs include 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage, 16MP/5MP cameras, fingerint scanner, dual-SIM slots, NFC, USB Type-C port, 4G LTE and 3510mAh battery.
