Xiaomi Redmi 4X with Snapdragon 435, 4100mAh battery announced

Xiaomi just announced the Mi 5c, powered by the company's in-house design Surge S1 chip. In addition, the popular Chinese device maker also expanded its Redmi line up, with the Redmi 4X.

Similar to the Xiaomi's recent Redmi smartphone, the Redmi 4X is an affordable smartphone boasting decent specs, big battery, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and flaunting a metal unibody design at a reasonable price.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4X features 5-inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass on top. However, it does not use the home-grown Surge S1 SoC, instead is powered by Qualcomm's 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor paired with Adreno 505 GPU. It will be offered in two configurations – 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 3GB RAM/32GB storage. The phone also supports expandable storage.

The camera department of Redmi 4X is handled by 13MP f/2.0 PDAF rear camera assisted by an LED flash and 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera. For connectivity, there's hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. A beefy 4100mAh battery keeps the lights on, which promises to deliver up to 18 days standby, up to two days of normal usage and up to 15 hours of continuous video playback. It runs Android Marshmallow based MIUI 8

The 2GB RAM/32GB storage verison of Redmi 4X is priced at CNY 699 ($100 | Rs. 6,790), while the 3GB RAM/32GB storage carries a price tag of CNY 899 ($130 | CNY 8730). It will be available in Cherry Pink, Champagne Gold and Matte Black hues.
