LG reportedly working on mini-version of LG G6

The LG G6 has just hit the market, and there is already talks about a smaller 'mini' version.

According to TechnoBuffalo, LG is working on a smaller display size variant of the flagship G6. The LG G6 carries a 5.7-inch display with a new 18:9 ratio, and according to the source, the mini version will have a smaller 5.4-inch screen, but sport the same aspect ratio of 18:9, as well the screen-to-body ratio of around 80 percent.

For LG, launching a smaller version of their flagship, G6 makes sense, given its biggest rivals —Apple and Samsung— offer their flagship smartphones in more than one screen-size variants. The report also says that LG G6 mini will be targeted at emerging markets.

Unfortunately it's unclear if the LG G6 mini will carry the sames specs as its larger sibling or feature mid-range hardware. Also the marketing name is yet to be finalized, and LG is yet to confirm the existence of the device, and reveal a launch date.

The LG G6 is priced at Rs. 51,990 in India and was made available for purchase in the country last week. It sports 5.7-inch QHD+ Full Vision display, which is basically a bezel-less display, offering more viewing space in a compact form factor. It has 18:9 aspect ratio, which is first time in any smartphones. The LG G6 comes with Snapdragon 821 processor, dual 13MP cameras, 5MP front camera, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, fingerprint scanner, IP68 water-resistance rating and 3300mAh battery.
