Xiaomi announces Mi 360 degree panoramic water-proof camera


Earlier today Xiaomi launched the Mi Pad 3 in its home market of China. In addition, the company also introduced a new camera called Mi 360-degree Panoramic camera, that has the ability of shooting panoramic images with an angle of 360-degress.

The Mi 360-degree Panoramic camera sports a square shape, and features two fisheye lens camera to offer viewing angle of 360-degrees. 

It is equipped with 23.8MP Sony IMX206 sensor at front and back to capture 360-degree panorama images, and is also capable of recording video up to a resolution of 3.5K (3456 x 1728 pixels) at 30fps. The camera can can also be used as a regular action camera and it comes with four shooting modes.

It features 6-axis EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) anti-shake function, for shake free video, when recording while walking or running. It is also waterproof and dustproof, thanks to the IP67 rating, which means it can be used underwater as well. There's also a camera app available for smartphones for editing the captured photos.

Other features include WiFi, Bluetooth for wireless connectivity and microUSB port for charging and file transfers. A 1600mAh battery runs the show which is rated to record 75 minutes of 360 degree videos with WiFi on and up to 90 minutes without WiFi connectivity. 

Xiaomi's 360-degree Panoramic Camera is priced at CNY 1699 ($283 | Rs. 17,000) and will be available for purchase in China starting April 6 during Mi Fan Festival via Xiaomi Mall, Mi Mall, and Xiaomi's official flagship store on Lynk, Jindong and Suning.
