Microsoft Surface Pro renders leaked, to be unveiled on May 23
Microsoft recently scheduled an event in Shanghai, China on May 23 for a Surface-related announcement. This led to speculation that the company would unveil the highly anticipated Surface Pro 5. However, Surface Head Panos Panay, shot down the rumors saying that "there is no such thing as Surface Pro 5".
That said, a render of a new Surface 2-in-1 device has hit the interwebs courtesy of Evan Blass. The Surface seen in the render is said to be just called Surface Pro, and not Surface Pro 5.
As seen in the render, the new Surface Pro will sport a design similar to Pro 4, and the placement of the ports including Surface Power connector, DisplayPort, USB 3.0 and microSD card slot also are unchanged. It will also come with Surface Pen and Type Cover, and will be offered in four colors.
This could be an upgraded model of Surface Pro 4 featuring Kaby Lake processor offering improved performance and bringing it with par with other similar devices like HP's Elite x2 1012 G2, and Acer Switch 5 among others.
According to the source, Microsoft will officially unveil the new Surface Pro at its China event next week.
