Xiaomi India to launch a new Redmi phone very soon


Popular device maker Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new Redmi series smartphone in India. The Chinese smartphone maker, back in March released Redmi 4A, and soon started teasing a new Redmi device, that will succeed the Redmi 3S.

Now Xiaomi's Redmi India twitter handle has confirmed the launch of a  new Redmi device very soon ― Announcing the launch of a new Redmi smartphone! Want to know more? Stay tuned. #PowerInYourHand. 

Unfortunately an exact launch date is not known, and there is no indication which Redmi 4 device will be launched, as there are so many devices in the series namely Redmi 4, Redmi 4S/4S Prime and Redmi 4X.

To recap, the Redmi 4A carried a price tag of Rs. 5,999 and had 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 13MP/5MP cameras, 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM support and 3120mAh battery.

The new Redmi 4 phone is expected to come with 5-inch screen with HD/Full HD resolution, Snapdragon 6XX or 4XX series chip, 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB expandable storage, 13MP/5MP cameras and 4000mAh battery. It is also likely to have a fingerprint scanner, which was missing on Redmi 4A.

Along with the new Redmi 4 phone, Xiaomi will inaugurate its Mi Home Store in Bengaluru, a retail store, that will showcase the brand's products like smartphones, fitness tracker, air purifiers and accessories like power bank, headphones, speakers and more.

Currently Xiaomi is the second largest smartphone vendor in the country with 14 percent share of the pie thanks to the sale of the budget Redmi devices (Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3, Redmi Note 4 & Redmi 4A). With the launch of the new device and Mi Home Store, Xiaomi will look to expand its presence and strengthen its grip furtner in the Indian market.
