ZTE C501 rugged smartphone gets certifiied by TENAA

A rugged smartphone from ZTE carrying the model number C501 has been certified by China's TENAA.

The main highlight of the device is its rugged build, designed to withstand most extreme conditions, that should make it ideal for industrial workers or adventurers. However, the hardware inside is nothing much to brag about, as it offers specs found on entry-level device.

The ZTE C501 featurs 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) TFT display, an unspecified processor clocked at 1.1GHz, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and 8MP/2MP cameras. It will also include microSD card slot, LTE support and WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, and runs the out-dated Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The battery capacity is not listed.

Since, it's a rugged device, it can be expected to be waterproof, dustproof, drop-proof and shockproof.  Despite its rugged features, it weighs only 260g.

The ZTE C501 will arrive in various color options including Green/Black, Army Green/Black, Army Blue/Black, Yellow/Black and Solid Black. There's no word when the rugged device will be released, but since it is listed on TENAA, an official announcement can be expected soon.
