Android O confirmed for Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6

HMD Global, the company that holds the license to manufacture and sell Nokia branded devices has confirmed that Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 Android smartphones will get Google's latest Android treat, Android O. 

However, a time frame is not known, and since, Google is yet to give name to Android O and release the final version, don't expect the update to be available until end of this year or early 2018. Currently Android O is in beta stage as Developer Preview 1.

The company has already assured that it will deliver the latest Android experience and latest security patches to the new Nokia phones for at-least two years. 

The Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 currently ships with Android 7.0 Nougat. And keeping its promise, Nokia has already pushed Android 7.1.1 update, along with May security patch to the Nokia 6 in select market where it is available (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong).

The new Nokia Android smartphones are expected to hit the global market later this month. Aside from Nokia, OnePlus has confirmed Android O for its last year flagships OnePlus 3 & 3T.
