Asus ZenFone AR coming soon to India


Asus at this year's edition of CES introuced the ZenFone AR, as the world's first smartphone to pack '8GB RAM' and to support Google's 'Tango AR and DayDream VR' platforms. The phone recently released in Taiwan, and now it will be heading soon to India.

The company has started teasing the arrival of the ZenFone AR on its social channel, unfortunately, and exact release date is yet to be revealed.

The ZenFone AR runs Android Nougat with Zen UI 3.0 on top and supports Google Daydream platform for virtual reality, which means you can use it with Daydream VR headset for an immersive VR experience. To take advantage of Tango's capabilities, the phone is equipped with three cameras: 23MP Sony IMX318 rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, OIS, EIS and 4K video recording + motion tracking camera + fisheye depth-sensing camera.

In terms of specifications, the ZenFone AR features 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 821 processor, 8MP front camera, dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, advanced vapor cooling system, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port and 3300mAh battery. It comes in multiple variants packing  6GB or 8GB RAM and storage options of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.

In Taiwan, the ZenFone AR carries a premium price tag of 24,990 New Taiwan Dollars ($825 | Rs. 53,000), so expect a much higher price tag in India.
