Honor Band 3 with NFC, heart rate monitor announced
Aside from the Honor 9 smartphone, Honor on Monday also introduced a new fitness tracker called Honor Band 3. It is an upgraded model of the Band A2, which was released last month and gets an improved design and support for NFC for payment function.
Design-wise the tracker module is now integrated into a TPU wristband and can't be removed for charging. And the wristband comes in black, orange and blue color.
Just like the Honor Band A2, Honor Band 3 features 0.91-inch AMOLED display and an improved heart rate sensor for continous heart rate tracking with increased accuracy.
It can track fitness activities like distance traveled, steps taken, calories burned, sleep monitoring, along with displaying notifications for calls, messages and reminders from compatible Android (v 4.4 KitKat & up) and iOS (v. 8.0 and above) devices. It pairs with devices through Bluetooth 4.2.
The fitness tracker is water resistant for up to 50 meters and promises up to 30 days of battery life with regular usage, and up to 10 days with intense use, or up to 45 days of standby time.
The Honor Band 3 comes in two versions: the standard variants priced at CNY 229 ($34), and a variant with NFC costing CNY 269 ($39). It will now available for purchase in home market of China.
