Microsoft's Modern Keyboard has a fingerprint sensor
Microsoft has announced a new peripheral for Windows machines called Modern Keyboard. The main highlight of the new keyboard is that, the fingerprint sensor is embedded into a dedicated key, that is located between Alt and Ctrl keys.
This will allow users to unlock their device by pressing the dedicated fingerprint key using Windows Hello Tool, in addition to facial, iris, or fingerprint recognition options. Apart from fingerprint sensor, the new keyboard now supports both wired and wireless connection.
The Modern Keyboard looks similar to the Surface Keyboard and has a sleek design with grey finish. It is made of thin aluminum frame, and weighs 413.5g. The keyboard has chiclet style keys, and uses a rechargeable battery, which Microsoft claims can last up to four months on full charge.
It is compatible Windows devices, MacOS, and the latest versions of Android provided that they feature Bluetooth 4.0 or higher for connectivity.
The Modern Keyboard has been priced at $129.99 and will go on sale soon. Microsoft also outed Modern Mouse, that support Bluetooth 4.0, offers exceptional precision, and carries a price tag of $49.99.
